Today, I read review about Parabola - Powai - Mumbai on MouthShut – the consumer review website.
On weekends when I have to work and stay parked in front of my laptop, I end up doing everything but work. So today I figured instead of staying focused and meeting my deadline like I should, I’d
write about Parabola, which has the best non-five-star buffet in and around Andheri East and Powai (trust me about this since I’ve been to almost all and am a foodie :) The salads were delicious, with lots of vegetarian options, like the usual tossed salad, and sticks of cucumber and carrot, a nice tossed beetroot salad, a delicious corn and cottage cheese salad, a chaat salad, a bean salad, and some gujrathi leafy, crunchy snack, I think it’s called patra or something. They also had three non-vegetarian salads. And I’m not a soup person in Bombay’s sweltering heat, but there was some chicken soup and tomato rasam to choose from, and I hear both were good.
Drinks like spiced buttermilk and kokum juice (yuck) were also included in the buffet. We chose to pass on that and got iced tea and sweet lime soda. The starters are brought to your table, one was mushroom tikkis and the other was some sort of chicken kebabs. Very, very limited on starters, but the mushroom tikkis tasted good. They also have a cheese platter with crackers. I can never say no to cheese but, from what my palate could tell, those were just little cubes of Amul’s Cheddar and Gouda cheese. Nothing to write home about.
The best part about Parabola - Powai - Mumbai is everything.

Today, I read review about Dolphin Resort - Havelock Island - Port Blair on MouthShut – the consumer review website.
Best time to visit: The best time to come here is from November - February. It will be better if you visit in start of November. Otherwise, it will be very warm after that.
Location: The Dolphin Resort is located at 3 km from Jetty after 2-4 hours ferry ride from Port Blair Airport. The Dolphin resort is located near Beach#5 of the Havelock Island. The nearest beach is Vijaynagar Beach. You will fall in love with resort as soon you will visit. The resort has rooms of different price range. All the rooms are like Nicobari Huts. My room was in front of the beach only. I took VIP Cottage.
The tariff is as follows:
VIP Cottage (AC) - Rs. 2000/-
Deluxe(AC) - Rs. 1500/-
Semi Deluxe(AC) - Rs. 1000/-
Best part about Dolphin Resort - Havelock Island - Port Blair is location of the resort, room quality, guest service.

MouthShut Review on Death at my Doorstep - Khushwant Singh
Today, I read review about Death at my Doorstep - Khushwant Singh on MouthShut – the consumer review website.
In Death At My Doorstep, a collection of obituaries written over the years, he presents the dead in death, as in life good, bad or ugly. Even though it talks about death & dead, it is not depressing at all as it opens those closed doors beyond which we have never seen because most of it all happened half a century ago.
His discussions with Dalai Lama, Acharya Rajneesh, V.P. Singh (ex-Prime Minister), Dr. Satya Vrat Shastri, etc are a treat to read.
Very few people have dates with death apart from those who take their own lives or are convicted by court to hang. He has given an example of Z.A. Bhutto who was hanged in Pakistan. 13 pages about Bhutto takes the reader to a different world, which narrates his last few days in prison before he was hanged. His struggle to survive & failure to do so makes the reading more interesting. He was even found crying in prison & was heard saying, "marna bahut mushkil hota hai".
His meeting with Tikka Khan, who was sent to Bangladesh with permission to loot, rape & kill anyone it suspected of being disloyal to Pakistan, is a sucker punch. You will be proud of him.
This book introduces people like M.O.Mathai, Rajni Patel, Dhiren Bhagat, Mulk Raj Anand, R.K.Narayan, Harbhajan Singh & many others and unfolds their relationship with the writer.
Chetan Anand is not unknown to anyone but did we know that he was very close to Khushwant Singh? Then there was a drift in their relations. Thats a very emotional write up.
There are many other known characters like Protima Bedi, Prabha Dutt (Barkha Dutt of NDTV is her daughter), Amrita Shergil, which surprises the reader.
Best part about Death at my Doorstep - Khushwant Singh is everything.

MouthShut Review on Badmaash Company Movie
Today, I read review about Badmaash Company Movie on MouthShut – the consumer review website.
Badmaash Company Movie is about 4 younsters – Karan (Shahid), Bulbul (Anushka), Chandu (Vir Das) and Zing (Chang) living in Bombay (in 1994 it was Bombay!) who dream of becoming rich quickly. Their friendship with a small-time smuggler gives them a glimpse of the imported goods-custom duty racket that was a big business in the pre-liberalisation era. The ambitious and clever Karan hatches a scheme to make quick money and involves his three friends into it. The scheme works big time and this ‘Friends & Co’ starts earning loads of money by doing the wrong things the right way. The company goes from strength to strength and they take their business from India to America. But with easy money comes problems like inflated egos and ‘too much too soon’. Karan realizes that riding a tiger is thrilling but it is also impossible to get off…...
Good part about Badmaash Company Movie is that it is new idea, has good direction, acting and music but second half could havd been better.

MouthShut Review on Godrej - Business Group
Today, I read review about Godrej - Business Group on MouthShut – the consumer review website.
This is experience of the member with Godrej. It is as follows:
The horror of dining table chairs is still haunting me. One by one chairs collapsed despite rare usage during parties. We have long given up the luxury of having dinner on the dining table, I now have it on my computer table and my wife on the sofa. The dining table and chairs were delivered after a month and half. Now my friends are shocked what type of Godrej chairs are manufactured, the entire design is faulty otherwise how will a steel chair collapse, if it cannot bear 90 kg weight what is the use of going for Godrej. I am only hoping against hope for solutions. Otherwise one day while the shareholders are meeting in their AGM I plan to donate the chairs to the chairman of the company with best compliments.
With regard to the dressing table the product was never delivered. We had to collect our refund. Overall if you want to experience how marketing should not be undertaken than go for Godrej, on the hindsight you may have many more capricious stories to tell to the world. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience of buying Godrej and living with them. I would like to thank my stars, since the price of Slimline has shot up from Rs 12000 to 18500, at least i ended up saving 33% for an early decision. Slimline was worth our investment.
Good things about Godrej are looks and price but the durablility, after sales service are the real problems.

MouthShut Review on Kingfisher Airlines
Today, I read review about Kingfisher Airlines on MouthShut – the consumer review website.
Luggage - This was the bet part as we had to deposit our luggage at Mumbai counter and ask them to put the fragile tag on one of them (as it had breakable things in it..) . We had to collect our luggage at the Thailand airport ....with only our hand baggage!
Seating - This part I did not like so much as we did not get seats very comfortable....too cwowded !!
Food - This has two parts...while in India food was not so good. While from here to Thailand there was free flow of drinks..(made men too happy...) There was continental option that was better though.
Flight attendants - I have travelled in many other airlines , and I can bet thet here they have the best Flight.
Attendants(FA) - Their helpful ness(I know they are getting paid for that..) but still they do something extra to make you more comfortable......an extra smile counts too.
Punctuality - We were in a dillema while buying the tickets.....because our flight was 6.30am..to reach Kolkata by 8.45am...And the connecting one was at 11am.
Best Part about Kingfisher Airlines is very helpful staff. Food of Kingfisher Airlines is bad. The standard has to be improved.
